JOY Uganda

Mission Statement

Joy Uganda envisions a society where every person, regardless of disability, is valued, included, and empowered to live a meaningful and independent life. We strive to create communities where learning, compassion, and opportunity come together — enabling children and adults with disabilities to fulfill their dreams and contribute to a more inclusive world.

Project: Joy Uganda Inclusive Education Initiative

Joy Uganda is currently implementing a series of projects aimed at establishing modern special and inclusive education in Uganda. Alongside the construction of the Joy Primary Inclusive School, the organization is also partnering with existing schools to create special units and inclusive classrooms.

These initiatives seek to introduce and model a contemporary approach to special education, ensuring that children with disabilities have access to quality learning, trained teachers, and a supportive environment.

By combining innovation, training, and community engagement, Joy Uganda is laying the foundation for a national movement toward true inclusion and educational equity.

“Transforming education, empowering every learner.”

Special Education

Joy Uganda is committed to addressing the significant gap in access to education for children with intellectual disabilities and Down syndrome in Uganda. Our mandate is to establish a special and inclusive school that provides individualized learning, therapeutic support, and pathways to independence.
We aim to empower learners with disabilities through quality education, vocational training, and community engagement — ensuring that every child has the opportunity to learn, grow, and live with dignity.
“No child should be left behind because of disability.”

Vocational School

Joy Uganda recognizes that access to vocational training is essential for persons with disabilities to achieve independence, dignity, and social inclusion. Our mandate is to establish a Vocational Training Center that equips youth and adults — especially those with intellectual disabilities and Down syndrome — with practical skills for employment and self-reliance. Through hands-on learning in areas such as tailoring, agriculture, beauty, crafts, and digital literacy, Joy Uganda seeks to create pathways toward independent living and economic empowerment.

We are committed to building an inclusive environment where every learner can discover purpose, develop ability, and contribute meaningfully to their community.

feeding and Empowerment

Joy Uganda is dedicated to empowering individuals with disabilities and their families through leadership training, scholarships, and mentorship programs. Our mandate is to nurture personal growth, confidence, and community participation by providing opportunities for education, skill development, and advocacy.

Through leadership workshops, scholarship support, and capacity-building initiatives, we help young people and caregivers become agents of change in their own communities.
We believe true empowerment begins when every person recognizes their God-given worth and uses their abilities to inspire others.
“Empowering lives, transforming communities.”

community development

Joy Uganda is committed to building inclusive and resilient communities where persons with disabilities and their families can live with dignity, stability, and hope. Our mandate is to strengthen community capacity through programs that promote family self-reliance, social inclusion, and environmental well-being.

We work with local leaders, parents, and faith-based groups to improve livelihoods, housing, and community infrastructure, while creating safe spaces for collaboration and mutual support.
Through family empowerment projects, income-generating initiatives, and disability awareness campaigns, Joy Uganda fosters a culture of belonging and shared responsibility.
“When communities grow together, every life flourishes.”
